Knight Fights 2 returns to the Vivid Games portfolio.
The company concluded a new agreement with Shori Games to restart the distribution of the title.
Knight Fights 2 is a combat simulator set in the Middle Ages. The game focuses on 1v1 duels, offering an extensive gameplay system and a rich arsenal of weapons and gear. The title was produced and distributed by Vivid Games from 2020 until December 2021, when the developer unilaterally prevented further distribution. In 2021, Knight Fights 2 generated a dozen percent share in the total revenues of the Company.
The company suspended the dispute with the developer by concluding a settlement. The new agreement provides for further safeguards for its interests in the event of a recurrence, but the key business arrangements do not differ from the original contract. “We're glad that we have reached an agreement with the developer after 10 months of negotiations. The new deal is beneficial for both - us and Shori Games. The developer, after several months of independent distribution, appreciated the value we give him as a publisher. I hope that this experience will guarantee the durability of the new contract” - emphases Piotr Gamracy, General Manager of Vivid Games.
Distribution will restart in November. The company expects that it takes from a few to several weeks for the revenues from the distribution of the title to return to the level of the previous year. “We will provide Knight Fights 2 with both content and marketing support. We will prepare paid user acquisition campaigns, which should allow for a relatively quick return to the level of revenues generated in 2021”- adds Piotr Gamracy.
The company is conducting further negotiations with Shori Games regarding the release of The Cash game, which was the subject of the second publishing agreement concluded with the developer.
